Now my least favorite feature of poker: tellin' my wife.

Alfred Winlock

Alfred Winlock is a minor character featured in Red Dead Redemption.

Background[]

Little is known of Alfred's background. He appears to be employed as a cattleman or slaughterhouse worker and mentions having a wife in conversation when gambling. In Undead Nightmare, Alfred mentions that his deceased parents worked as butchers, and expresses fondness for all sorts of meat, including the flesh of the undead.

Interactions[]

Red Dead Redemption[]

Alfred plays a minor role in the mission "You Shall Not Give False Testimony, Except for Profit", in which he is among the crowd that gathers around Nigel West Dickens at Ridgewood Farm. Eventually, he is convinced after watching John Marston perform several feats of strength and purchases some of West Dickens' miracle tonic.

Alfred can most often be found playing poker in the workers' quarters at MacFarlane's Ranch, or in the saloons at Blackwater and Thieves' Landing. A seasoned player, he may spot Marston if he tries to cheat and demand that they face him in a duel. He also can occasionally be found visiting Armadillo or working various jobs at Ridgewood Farm.

Undead Nightmare[]

In Undead Nightmare, Alfred can be found defending the settlement of Manzanita Post with a Double-barreled Shotgun. If Manzanita Post is saved and Alfred survives, he will be found resting at the top of the water tower with Willie Oats. Alfred is also present within Fort Mercer, where he and other survivors have established a safe haven from the undead.

In a random encounter, he can sometimes be found at a campsite offering to give the player a taste of his meat. However, he will try to kill them if they come over, revealing that he has gone mad with hunger and resorted to cannibalism.
