Not much is known of Alvin's background. He is possibly a traveling worker and has expressed interest in buying land but seems to spend most of his money on drinking and gambling.

Events of Red Dead Redemption[]

Alvin can usually be found playing poker at MacFarlane's Ranch. However, he has been known to frequent the saloons in Thieves' Landing and Armadillo, as well as other locations throughout New Austin. He has a short temper and will challenge the player to a duel if he catches them cheating. Alvin is also a frequent victim of the Grand Theft Stallion random encounter.
