Cueva Seca (or Dry Cave) is a location featured in Red Dead Redemption in the Gaptooth Ridge region of the New Austin territory.

BackgroundEdit

Red Dead RedemptionEdit

The Nigel West Dickens mission "Can a Swindler Change His Spots?" ends here and leads directly to the mission "The Sport of Kings, and Liars" which begins in this location.

Liars and CheatsEdit

After downloading the Liars and Cheats DLC pack, Cueva Seca becomes a gang hideout. The hideout has been taken over by the Treasure Hunters. It is one of series of hideouts that, when completed, will give the player with the highest score the ability to obtain the Explosive Rifle.

LayoutEdit

Cueva Seca is located in the far north-west corner of the map, out in the desert, dug into a cliffside. It is somewhat South of Silent Stead and holds a small campsite at which Nigel West Dickens will reside until the completion of his mission strand.

The camp is a great vantage point from which Tumbleweed Mansion can be seen. There is a small alcove right at the edge of the map containing a large campsite owned by Nigel West Dickens.

Also, a part of the "California" stranger task can be found here.

TriviaEdit

  • An easter egg (similar to the 'Pit Stop' Random Encounter) occurs in this area; after being chased out of Plainview, Marston and Nigel West Dickens come to the campsite. Shortly after doing so, the player can see Nigel West Dickens urinating. Not that this is the most 'interesting' of things, but once the following mission is complete the player can no longer see this.
  • There is a chest in the cave that contains $15-$25.
  • Despite being located in the U.S. part of the map, "Cueva Seca" is a Spanish name for "Dry Cave".
