It has been confirmed through campfire conversations in-game among NPCs that Hamlin's Passing was the site of a massacre by Native Americans on a wagon train of settlers.
- Upon entering the small abandoned camp, Marston will often remark "What happened here?", "Where is everyone?" or "Seems far too quiet."
- There are signs around the small camp that support what NPC's say about the attacks by Native Americans against settlers, due to the fact that there are arrows stuck to the wagons, and it has been stripped of any valuables.
- Deer, wolves, coyotes, birds, and bighorn sheep can frequently be found around the remains of the wagons.
- There is a chest near one of the wagons that contains $15-$25.
