Hawk Feathers are an animal item found in Red Dead Redemption. They can be obtained by killing and skinning (plucking) a Hawk. Multiple feathers can be obtained from a single bird. The feathers can be sold to merchants and are considered very high value items.

Note: prices listed on this page are based upon the player having neutral honor. If the player has high honor, the selling price will be decreased by 50% everywhere except Thieves' Landing. Low Honor increases selling price by 50% everywhere except Thieves' Landing.

Tips Edit

• Be careful when using a shotgun or high powered rifle, the bird will explode leaving no feathers to gather.
• Hawk Feathers can be gathered in large quantities in the area of Gaptooth Breach. It is rather easy to amass 100 feathers in under half an hour in this area. These feathers can be then sold back to a General Store for a very high profit.
  • This allows the player to amass a very easy fortune in the near-beginning of the game. After acquiring the Volcanic Pistol, do not use it. Save up money and buy the safehouse in Armadillo, or just use the safehouse at MacFarlane's Ranch to use the chest for extra pistol ammo. After getting a good sum of ammunition for the Volcanic Pistol, head on over to Gaptooth Breach and use it to take down all the hawks.
