Hector makes a brief appearance during the mission "The Burning", in which he is seen hacking away at the barn doors at MacFarlane's Ranch in an attempt to free the trapped horses.
Hector can often be found in MacFarlane's Ranch doing a variety of odd jobs. He can also be found around Armadillo, specifically the saloon. However, he has been known to frequent other locations throughout New Austin, West Elizabeth, and Nuevo Paraiso.
