Rattlesnake Hollow is a natural formation in Red Dead Redemption, Red Dead Redemption 2, and Red Dead Online in the Cholla Springs region of the New Austin territory.

It includes several small caves in the south face of the Redemption Mountains west of Twin Rocks.

Background[]

Red Dead Redemption II[]

In 1907 (or 1899 if discovered through glitches) the player can find a small chest with Otis Miller's Revolver along with several explicit photos. It is unknown how it got there or when as no evidence has arrived.

Red Dead Redemption[]

Not much is known about Rattlesnake Hollow apart from the fact that bounty targets hide out here and Marston will be tasked with hunting them down and bringing them alive or killing them.

Layout[]

This area consists mostly of steep hills and hollowed-out rocks. On searching the cave openings, one of them contains a chest with cash inside. There is also an abandoned tent to the left of the caves.

Trivia[]

General[]

Red Dead Redemption[]

  • Sometimes, NPCs can be heard complaining about bandits up at Rattlesnake Hollow and that someone should do something about them. They could be referring to the bounty targets that hide out here.
  • This is a popular location to hunt cougars, although the uneven terrain in the area may prove to be an obstacle to the player in defending themselves from potential cougar attacks.
  • The player can sometimes stumble upon a campfire inhabited by civilians at the mouth of the caves, though they will not appear if the player has an active bounty target at this location.

Red Dead Redemption 2[]

  • In Red Dead Redemption 2, there is only one cave as opposed to the several in Red Dead Redemption.
