Sheep are an animal species featured in Red Dead Redemption and Red Dead Redemption II.

Killing a sheep is not required to complete the "Unnatural Selection" achievement and trophy.

Red Dead Redemption

Sheep can only be found in the town of Armadillo inside a pen next to the train station. They are more common in multiplayer than in single player.

It is much harder to find sheep at night, even if it appears that they have been brought in.

Red Dead Redemption II

Sheep can be seen near the beginning of the teaser trailer in a pen in an unknown location.

  • Killing a sheep will give the player a bounty.
  • Sometimes the player will have to go into the pen itself and wait awhile before sheep will spawn. It is advisable to wander around the pen and move the camera around when waiting for one, as they usually spawn off-screen.
