A champagne horse. Normal speed.

–In-game description

The Tersk is a horse and transport featured in Red Dead Redemption.

Description

The Tersk is described as horse with normal speed. A blue roan is a black horse with a "roan" gene. This gene changes the coloration, causing it to appear silver or bluish-gray with black points (legs, ears, muzzle, mane and tail). It has been misidentified on this game for a champagne, but the champagne coloration classification is fairly new and rare. Champagnes also lack some skin pigmentation, so the skin around the eyes and muzzle would be an off-pink or "pumpkin" with dark freckling. The eyes would be amber or green. Its base price is $250, and it can be found almost everywhere. It is one of the slower of the 2 star horses. They can be found frequently around Critchley's Ranch.

Note: prices listed on this page are based upon the player having neutral honor and playing the game on Normal difficulty. If the player has high honor, the selling price will be Increased by 50% everywhere except Thieves' Landing. Low Honor decreases selling price by 50% everywhere except Thieves' Landing. While playing the game on Hardcore difficulty, money is more scarce and the base, neutral honor price of each item will be slightly lower.

Trivia

  • In PS3, when shot on the back right where the reins are at will cause an 'X' of blood to form on its throat from the reins to the stomach.
  • The Tersk breed originates from the Soviet-instituted Tersk stud in the northern Caucasus mountains. The breed was first created in the 1920s and not officially recognized until 1948, making its appearance in Red Dead Redemption an anachronism.
