Weapons in Red Dead Redemption The Live Action Film
Weapons in Red Dead Redemption: The Movie
The Following guns are the firearms used by the mentioned characters in my Red Dead Redemption film. Note: If there is a * at the end of the weapon's name then it didn't appear in the game.
John Marston
Colt Single Action Army Model 1873 -.32-20 WCF (one of the very few genuine 1st Generation Colt Single Action Army revolvers that will be used in the film. In the small scenes I have been filming, John has his revolver holstered in all of them. I have been using one of my Uberti Cattleman Revolvers that I use for cowboy action shooting in those scenes. It looks similar to what this gun will look like when I fix it up for the film.)

Colt M1911 - .45 ACP* (Edgar Ross gives this gun to John. It is one of my personal custom 1911 pistols. It has a blued finish, it is engraved, and is fitted with genuine ivory grips. Ross himself carries one that is much nicer. Ross likely abused his powers as a federal agent to force Colt's Manufacturing Company to cough some of these up for him. When they were first available, the M1911 pistol was restricted to government use only. It could not be purchased/owned by any citizens. Some would believe that this would make John's possesion of this gun illegal, however, since he is technically working for the government, John could actually own this gun without getting in trouble with the government.)

Jack Marston
Jack Marston will inherit all of his father's weapons. HE DOESN'T USE ALL OF THEM! It shows them in his possesion. He has a few others that John didn't have. Those are:
Uncle's Colt Single Action Army "Peacemaker" .45 Colt "Civilian Model" fitted with pearl grips* (he carries this gun in a shoulder holster. His main sidearm is his father's Colt Single Action Army "Peacemaker" - .45 Long Colt. He uses his father's Colt Peacemaker to kill Edgar Ross. However, in my novel Jack used a Smith & Wesson .44 Hand Ejector 1st Model "New Century" (a.k.a the Smith & Wesson Triple Lock) - .44 Special to kill Edgar Ross. I have a Smith & Wesson Triple Lock chambered for .44 Special but it is more of a personal sidearm and I don't use many of my guns in my private collection for movies unless the particular models I need are hard to come by. In the novel John tells Jack that the Smith & Wesson Triple Lock is considered the finest revolver ever made (which is true in real life, even though my favorite handgun is the Colt Single Action Army). For the film the use of his father's Colt Single Action Army "Peacemaker" seemed more appropriate. There is also an intended joke about Jack using a Colt "Peacemaker" to kill Edgar Ross that I expect you to get (Hint: Peacemaker). The film is based on the game and is also loosely based on the novel.)

All of Uncle's Guns that are stored in the boxes in his room* (In my film, Uncle is Red Harlow from Red Dead Revolver. I will also be making a Red Dead Revolver film in which I play as Red (my uncle, Shawn Nealy, will potray Uncle in the Red Dead Redemption film and I will play as Red in flashbacks in that film which will reveal that Uncle is Red Harlow who has let himself go and due to heavy drinking and abuse of tobacco and lack of exercise, has seemed to have heavily aged physically and has the appearance of a 70 year old man although he is plenty younger than that and has become more fat and overwieght than he once was). It will actually reveal that Red/Uncle kept his father's Colt Model 1860 Army "Scorpion Revolver" (which was damaged by the fire. See Red Harlow for an explanation if you haven't played the first game) and repaired it. Therefore, he has two Scorpion Revolvers. His father's and Griff's. I will be potraying both John Marston and Grown-Up Jack Marston as well. I'm a man of many faces though so I can pull it off. The Red Dead Revolver film will come first and then the Red Dead Redemption film will be made along with Undead Nightmare and other installments.)
